Northern Rocket Football League

We are members of The Northern Rocket Football League, which is a travel league. We play Greenville, Sparta, East Grand Rapids, Northview, Lowell, Comstock Park, Rockford, Cedar Springs, North Park, Kentwood and Caledonia . There is a possibility of traveling farther. The schedule is set by the league on a strength basis. Each week we are notified as to when and where the teams will play the following Saturday. There is NO LOCAL CONTROL OF THE SCHEDULE! Games may be played as early as 8:30 A.M. or as late as 8:30 P.M. The season consists of seven games.

League age is your child’s age on November 1 of current year.

Our home games are played on the varsity field. We may be asked to move to the practice field at any time. If Coopersville’s first playoff game is home, all of our rocket games will be away.

The NRFL conducts a team draft. We have no control over the make up of teams. Requests can not be granted.

Players are responsible for their own equipment, which includes helmet, shoulder pads, pants with pads, shoes (NO METAL CLEATS) and mouth guard. We provide the jerseys, which MUST be returned after the last game!!

Weight limits are strictly enforced! If your child is over weight s/he will NOT be allowed to play in the games. Weight is checked before each game!

8 and 9 year old division weight limit 125

10 and 11 year old division weight limit 145

12 to 14 year old division weight limit 170

Sign-ups are generally held the last week of July and the first week of August.

Youth Flag Football

This is one of youngest programs. Rules and regulations will evolve.

League age is November 1 of this year. Children must play in their age group.

We will have a coaches meeting shortly after the sign-ups.

Age groups will be 4 and 5 year olds and 6 and 7 olds.

You must provide comfortable shorts or sweat pants and cleats. No metal or screw-in type cleats will be allowed. We provide the uniform shirts and flags.

Cost:

$25.00 per player for City of Coopersville residents
$60.00 3 player maximum

$35.00 per player for non-City of Coopersville residents
$80.00 3 player maximum

$10.00 late fee per child.
