The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office provides police services to the City through a contract between Ottawa County and the City. This department oversees and preserves general peace and order through enforcement of the laws of the United States, State of Michigan and Codes and Ordinances of Coopersville.

Northeast Ottawa Forum (NEO Forum)

The Northeast Ottawa Forum or the NEO Forum, is a program that provides counseling services, education, support and resources to all Coopersville Area Public Schools students and the community in order to reduce substance abuse, violence and juvenile delinquency.

The NEO Forum staff is a unique combination of a community counselor and a sheriff’s deputy who work together to teach local students about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use as well as to provide counseling services to local children and families in need. Since the program began during the 1997-1998 school year, more youth are drug free and maintaining healthy lifestyles as well as interacting more positively with their peers and the community.
